The captain of Quetta Qavalry, Mohammad Amir, has expressed great enthusiasm for the emerging star Khawaja Nafay, supporting his promotion to the senior Pakistan team. Nafay has been one of the main players for Quetta Qavalry in their debut season of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, where he remained unbeaten. He has been instrumental with powerful and consistent ball-striking.

The 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batter has scored 144 runs in four innings, remaining unbeaten and hitting 12 sixes; all this demonstrates a level of maturity well beyond his age.

However, following the recent win of Qavalry, Amir remarked on the attitude and temperament of Nafay-virtues, which he believes will help the right-hander reach the zenith of the sport.

“He is extremely hardworking, and that is his biggest strength,” Amir said. “If he keeps his focus, he can soon become a key contributor to Pakistan cricket.”

Going back to the fact that the team has yet to be beaten, Amir admitted that it was not an easy task to sustain the momentum throughout the tournament.

“When you keep winning early, the challenges get tougher as the tournament progresses,” he noted. “I just hope we can maintain this momentum.”

Nafay is a very strong player not only in the T10 League. In the Pakistan Super League (PSL), he played with Quetta Gladiators, scoring 234 runs in 12 games with a strike rate of 130, with two half-centuries.

He also performed excellently in the 2025 Hong Kong Sixes, where he was a standout player for Pakistan Shaheens, finishing as the third-highest run-scorer. Nafay had made 151 runs in five games at an amazing strike rate of 284.90, including a vital fifty during the knock-out stages when Pakistan won the title, beating Kuwait in the final.
