Phil Salt’s career best 142* took England to the towering total of 304 against South Africa in the 2nd T20I. By putting on 304 in the first innings, England became just the third team in history to reach the summit of scoring 300 runs in a T20I game.

Batting first, England came out all guns blazing in the 2nd T20I against South Africa. The opening pair of Phil Salt and Jos Buttler unleashed havoc on South African bowlers. Both Rabada and Jansen leaked plenty of runs, as the onslaught of Salt and Buttler forced them to bowl with varying line and length.

Phil Salt made an explosive 142* in just 60 balls. He smashed 8 towering sixes and 15 fours to reach his career best T20I score. Jos Buttler, on the other hand, also played furiously. He smashed the South African bowlers all around the park, showcasing his unique freak-style batting. Buttler made 83 off 30, giving England a strong base to move decisively towards scoring 300 in the end.

The game is now in the balance, as South Africa is looking to chase the historic England total of 304 in the second innings.
