Trent Rockets Crush Manchester Super Giants to Go Top of The Hundred 2026
Finn Allen's explosive unbeaten 72 helped Trent Rockets secure a six-wicket win over Manchester Super Giants, allowing them to take the top spot in The Hundred 2026 points table.
Rockets were set a target of 138 and Allen took charge of the chase, smashing 11 boundaries and two sixes during his 35-ball innings. His efforts guided the team to victory with 13 deliveries to spare at Old Trafford.
Trent Rockets maintained a steady approach in the chase and only started to speed up after Allen took on Josh Tongue, hitting him for a six followed by a four after the 75-ball mark. Those shots gave Rockets complete control of the match.
The chase did not start smoothly for Rockets, as Ben Duckett was dismissed for a quick score after attempting a ramp shot against Gus Atkinson. Tom Banton scored 10, while Tim David managed only 4 before getting out.
Sam Billings contributed 26 runs for Rockets, whereas Mitchell Santner remained unbeaten on 24 while hitting the winning boundary to complete the chase.
For Manchester Super Giants, Jos Buttler was the standout batter, as he scored an unbeaten 55 off 37 balls. His knock also helped him move closer to the record for the most runs in T20 cricket, leaving him 24 runs away from the milestone.
Super Giants managed to post 137-3 thanks to a strong final partnership worth 81 runs from 57 balls. Leus du Plooy played a key role in that stand with an unbeaten 40 off 28 deliveries, but the total was not enough to stop Rockets.
The game began with five teams tied on eight points at the top of the table, with net run rate separating them. After the win, Trent Rockets moved four points clear at the top, while Manchester Super Giants dropped to second place.
